All messages sent through MailUp must comply with consumer privacy regulations. If you import contacts for which you are unsure whether you have a recent, documented confirmation of the fact that they wish to receive messages from you, you will need to obtain such confirmation by sending a Subscription Confirmation Request. If you need to send a request to a list of contacts, follow these steps:

Prepare a confirmation request message

  1. Select Messages> EMAIL > NEW
  2. Write the message, inserting the subscription link into the body of the message. To create this link click on the "SUB" button after selecting the words that should become the link (for example: "confirm your subscription")
  3. Clicked the Advanced button and turn on the "CONFIRMATION REQUEST" button
  4. SAVE the message

Importing contacts and sending a confirmation request

  1. Go to Recipients > Import
  2. Choose the type of file that you wish to import (e.g. CSV or MS Excel)
  3. Browse and load the file to import
  4. Choose the Groups that you wish to import into
  5. Under the Advanced section and check the option to Import as Pending and send confirmation request email*
  6. Select the confirmation e-mail message from the drop down.

*This advanced option assigns the imported recipients as Pending. Once you send out the confirmation request email (see section below), those recipients who chose to subscribe to your email communications will become Subscribed.  

Continue with the import process and click on Next step.

Sending the confirmation request

  1. When the IMPORT is done, the confirmation request e-mail will be added to the SEND QUEUE
  2. To SEND the message click on SEND STATUS or QUEUE, and start the mailing
