The final step in your email campaign is to send the email by:
- specifying your sender from and reply-to email addresses
- choosing the recipients
- selecting to schedule a time and date for the mailing (or to send it immediately) and managing the mailing queue (view here to delete an email from the mailing queue).
Sender Name, Sender Email, and Reply-to Email
Every email marketing campaign should have a meaningful sender name and sender email (i.e. the from email)
In addition to editing your sender email address, you can now edit the Reply-to email address conveniently when setting up your email campaign, without having to edit it in the List settings section.
Your from email must be an email address that is easily recognizable and viewed as trustworthy by your recipients.
Your reply-to email (i.e. the email that your recipients can write back to by clicking on reply) should be recognizable and friendly, as opposed to a email@example.com address. The purpose of having a friendly reply-to email is to encourage your recipients to contact you. Email is about communicating with your customers, not telling them "not to reply" to you. In addition, the reply action is counted by ISPs (e.g. Gmail, AOL, etc.) as a clear indication of your recipients' engagement, which means that it positively affects your deliverability.
Using a dynamic sender
Check the Select sender from recipient data fields to take advantage of Dynamic Sender, an advanced feature that allows you to assign which from email addresses will be sent to which recipient in your mailing.
When using this feature, the sender name and email are retrieved dynamically from the corresponding recipient fields that store that information. Of course, this assumes that you have previously imported the relevant information into those fields. In other words, the recipients database must contain two custom fields that are used for the sender name and sender email. To create these customized recipient fields, go to Settings > Account Settings > Recipient Fields. Add the field name of the additional "sender," and, in the corresponding field value, insert the sender's email.
This feature is particularly useful for a company's sales team. Each sales representative's email address is dynamically matched to his/her customers. This means that you can create one customized email that is sent with the corresponding sales representative's email address to the correct recipients. For example, a follow-up after a trade show would come from different sales people, matching prospects to the very sales people that they met at the trade show.
Select who you want to send your email campaign to. Choose to send the email to all subscribers in your list or to one or more groups in your list. To send your mailing to just a few email addresses, choose the manual selection tab.
To further segment your mailing list, you can apply one or more filters. Filters can be found under Marketing+ > Filters.
