Add individual recipient

You can add a new individual recipient to a List easily by first selecting the List > Recipient > Import and clicking on the Add Recipient icon. From there data can be entered in the fields. Inputting data to all the fields is not required but recommended to allow for highly targeted messaging.  To add fields, go to Settings > Account Settings > Recipient fields.

...

For large Excel files, the import process may take a few minutes. During this time, you can perform any other task and even log-out. The import process will continue until completed!

Advanced Import Options

...

The Advanced section is a crucial step in the import process. It ensures your file is read properly upon import and allows you to choose the subscription preference.

When importing a file, go to Recipients > Import, click on file format. On the import page, upload your file and click the Next button. Go to the Advanced dropdown and select from the various options. Below is an example of an Excel file import process.

It is important to choose the correct subscription preference! Attention: Recipients are entered as "Subscribed" by default!

1) Check the box if you want empty fields to override any existing recipient data in the system. If this box is not checked, all existing data in the imported fields will be erased!

2) The field separator is the text (comma, semi-colon, etc.) that separates the fields when translating from chart form to text. For excel, this automatically translates. For CSV files, however, you need to choose the correct field separator. To find your field separator, open your csv file into a text editor like Notepad or Wordpad.

3) Choose the mobile number format correctly.

4) Select "Replace Current Group Assignments" when exporting existing recipients from MailUp and re-importing them. All previous group assignments will be erased and replaced with new groups assigned in the import process.

4) Choose the subscription preference. (Remember, all imports default to the "Subscribed" status.)
