This document contains all the useful information to connect MailUp to external systems such as websites, applications, CRM, ERP and CMS systems, and so on. All the integrations are free of charge, except for the BATCH ZIP FTP mode. The FTP space used for the integrations is never included in the MailUp service, and is usually provided by the customer.

Many systems can be integrated with MailUp via web services or through the setting up of an automatic file exchange mode, but in many cases modules – also called “connectors” – for an easy integration with MailUp are already available.

In particular, we have developed connectors that help integrate MailUp with:

  • Magento: it allows to export a list of contacts with specific features from the e-commerce platform to MailUp . Downloadable free of charge from Magento Connect;
  • Microsoft Dynamics CRM: it allows to create a “marketing list” and send it an email message chosen among the available messages in the MailUp console, with the freedom to schedule mailings and receive delivery details directly in the CRM. To purchase the connector visit the product page: MailUp Connector for MS Dynamics CRM;
  • Wordpress: widget that allows to easily insert a subscription form to a distribution list in MailUp. Plugin can be downloaded from Wordpress site.

Several MailUp partners have developed other integrations, e.g. with VTiger or ProductCart. MailUp is always willing to provide the necessary support to develop integrations with applications that are already widely used in Italy or abroad.

The experience acquired through the years allows us to quickly satisfy all requests, thanks to well-tested integration procedures and workflows. In detail, in the typical workflow the MailUp database is automatically fed with the data from the external system, so that manual imports before any sending can be avoided. MailUp then returns important information such as unsubscribed users, invalid email addresses and marketing statistics.

In order to understand which solution better suits one’s needs, it is a good practice to “categorize” one’s own case. Is the database managed inside or outside MailUp? Is the email message composed inside or outside MailUp?

Table 2: Suggested integration procedures according to database placement and message composition tool

MailUp excludes in any case from sendings:

  1. Duplicate email addresses;
  2. Addresses which reported an abuse ( feedback loop);
  3. Addresses which activated the List-Unsubscribe header;
  4. Addresses which reported a Hard Bounce 550 5.1.1 (invalid address, mailbox not found).

Cases 2,3,4 only apply to email channel, and together with other measures ensure high deliverability rates, i.e. messages are not blocked by spam filters.

Integrations through web services are available both for email and text messages channels.

Whitelabel features, initially developed for resellers, are now included in the private labeling option.
